Resurrection University College of Nursing created a Nursing Honor Society during fall, 2010, to foster an ongoing community of nursing leaders and scholars. Members of the Society include faculty, students, and community leaders who are committed to the knowledge, learning and service that have guided the nursing profession.
One of the most important things a nurse can do is to connect to a community of professionals who work to keep nursing practice informed and relevant. Our community is committed to making a difference in the lives and practices of our students and graduates, and to making a difference in the health of our patients.
With the formation of this new Honor Society, we are in the process of becoming a chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the premier international nursing honor society. When that process is complete, you will also become Sigma Theta Tau members and you will have the same rights and benefits of all other members. Sigma Theta Tau is committed to building a global community which is focused on the creation and application of knowledge and leadership to make a difference for others.
New members are inducted twice a year. Students who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to join. For more information, please send an email to Nancy Reese, President of the Nursing Honor Society, or contact her at 773-252-5329.
