IPE Sim Lab

Inter-Professional Education (IPE) Simulation Learning Center

We’ve taken “state-of-the-art” to an all new level to take healthcare education to an even higher level

The Foglia Family Foundation Inter-Professional Education (IPE) Simulation Learning Center gives students the opportunity to practice basic and advanced skills in a variety of specialties including medical-surgical, ICU, pediatrics, OB, radiography, behavioral health, and home health.

Simulation makes learning a hands-on experience

Simulation allows students to incorporate theory into hands-on practice in an environment that allows for errors without risk to patients. Benefits include decreased medication errors, increased communication and teamwork, improved critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills.

Why do we call it an Inter-Professional Education Simulation Learning Center?

It’s one of the things that set Resurrection University apart. Here we teach collaboratively in multidisciplinary patient care teams so our students are better prepared to meet real-world challenges.

  • Sim Kids and Babies allow for students to practice pediatric clinical components

The advantages of video and sound capturing technologies

Two practice rooms within the IPE Simulation Learning Center feature video cameras and specialized software to allow faculty to monitor and review students’ skills and decision-making abilities. The video and sound capturing technologies make it possible for students to see how well they perform assessments and patient interactions.  Students are able to view their communication style and body language while interacting with the interdisciplinary team, patients and each other.
