Venipuncture 101 Skills Day

This skills day is for individuals who are interested in reviewing IV therapy concepts, techniques and best practices. The hands-on Sim Lab portion will allow for practice with peripheral, IV access and insertion.

Leadership Speaker Series: Team Building in Healthcare
This leadership series on team building in the healthcare environment, presented by Dr. Reem Azhari will allow participants to:
- identify characteristics associated with high functioning teams
- define the conditions that contribute to loss of communication and team dysfunction

Cardiac Emergencies Skills Day
The skills day will cover the assessment, treatment and management of cardiac emergencies such as Acute MI’s, Congestive Heart Failure and Cardiopulmonary arrest. The hands on portion will cover: EKG, Art Lines, Crash Cart Assessment and Cardioversion.

1st Annual Alumni Event – Wendella Boat, Beer & BBQ Cruise: SOLD OUT!
Enjoy unlimited samplings of beer by Off Color Brewery and a BBQ meal by Sweet Baby Rays while cruising Lake Michigan and the Chicago River.
Tickets are $30 per guest. Two ticket limit. This is an adults only event.
Please plan to arrive 15-20 min ahead of time. The boat will dock from the Chicago River walkway, 401 N. Wabash. You can use nearby self parking garages. Public transportation is recommended.

The Tuesday Night Supper Program provides a delicious and nutritious meal to 130 guests in need every Tuesday night.
EKG Skills Day
This skills day will prepare attendees for caring for patients being monitored for cardiac dysrhythmias. It will include anatomy and physiology of the conduction system, identification of basic dysrhythmias and the corresponding treatment modalities. Practice interpreting EKG strips will facilitate application to clinical situations.
